You’ll collaborate closely with other dedicated educators and staff, designing and delivering instruction personalized to each learner’s needs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid Illinois Special Education (SPED) teaching license (LBS1 required)
• Any additional state or district-specific credentials, such as PEL or Paraprofessional Certification, if applicable
• Experience working in special education classrooms, preferably with living and learning environments
• Strong collaborative and communication skills
• Ability to develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver specialized instruction to students in living and learning classrooms, meeting each learner’s IEP goals
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to create supportive educational plans
• Modify curriculum and instruction based on assessment data and student needs
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal requirements for special education documentation
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and confidence for all learners
• Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and ongoing professional development
