Travel RN – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Rotating Weekends | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with patient ratios of 1:1–2
• Perform and assist with procedures including spinal taps, titration of critical drips (sedation, vasoactive, paralytic), sedated MRI, EKG/EEG/telemetry, port access and discontinuation, and intubation/extubation
• Operate unit equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Bair Hugger, Kangaroo Feeding Pump, Giraffe infant warmer, ventilators, BiPAP, and high-flow O2
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• May float to NICU (low acuity), Nursery, or OB/GYN if qualified, and work a mixed schedule of days, nights, and weekends to meet staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of Pediatric ICU nursing experience required — candidates without this experience will not be considered
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in PICU and/or NICU settings
• Background in women's health areas such as labor and delivery or OB/GYN
• Strong multitasking and prioritization skills with a self-starter, organized, and patient-centered approach
