As an Assistant Project Manager (APM), you’ll work closely with Senior Project Managers and Project Managers to support the successful delivery of commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects. This is an entry-level opportunity to build your project management career while gaining hands-on experience across all phases of construction.

You’ll work closely with project managers, project foremen, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and our coordination team to support project planning, scheduling, documentation, materials, change orders, and closeout. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced project professionals while developing the technical and business skills needed to grow in construction project management.

What You'll Do

• Support Senior Project Managers and Project Managers with the day-to-day management of commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects.
• Assist with preparing monthly job cost projections, project schedules, and manpower schedules.
• Solicit bids from vendors and subcontractors and prepare information for review.
• Assist with monthly job cost and cash flow projections.
• Prepare change order estimates and purchase orders for review.
• Maintain organized and accurate project files and documentation.
• Prepare CECs for processing in CMiC.
• Provide backup support for project invoice approvals.
• Coordinate and release material and equipment deliveries.
• Prepare and process submittals through CMiC.
• Review and process bulletins and updated drawings.
• Review and submit RFIs and coordinate drawing updates.
• Attend project meetings with the Project Manager and assist with follow-up items and meeting minutes.
• Work collaboratively with the Coordination team to develop and maintain project coordination schedules.
• Attend coordination meetings with the Lead Coordinator as needed.
• Support design-assist activities when applicable.
• Collaborate with project co-ops to support timely completion of project closeout and O&M packages.

• Ensure Foremen have the most current project information, including drawings, specifications, RFIs, bulletins, submittals, and schedules.
• Support the review and management of project punch lists, working with Foremen and subcontractors to address outstanding items.
• Obtain as-built drawing markups from field Foremen and work with the Coordination team to develop final as-built drawings for project closeout.
• Maintain strong communication between the project management team and the field to help keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Previous internship, co-op, or construction experience is preferred but not required.
• Interest in building a career in commercial HVAC and mechanical construction.

• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to learn quickly, manage shifting priorities, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in HVAC systems, mechanical construction, and the construction industry.
• Familiarity with Massachusetts building codes and industry standards, including ASHRAE, NFPA, and ASME, as they relate to HVAC, is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Navisworks, or CMiC is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with field teams, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project partners.
