Job Description

This role offers opportunities for both entry-level and highly skilled security technicians to work on a long-term data center project scheduled to run over the next 2–3 years. You will install and wire access control points, intrusion and burglar alarms, and CCTV cameras, while working with leading security systems. Entry-level technicians receive hands-on training in wiring and terminations from the door frame up, while experienced technicians apply their existing security installation expertise with minimal oversight. Typical workdays start between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. and end around 2:30–3:30 p.m., providing a consistent and structured schedule.

Responsibilities

• Install and wire access control points, intrusion and burglar alarm systems, and CCTV cameras in a data center environment.

• Perform wiring and terminations from the door frame and up, ensuring clean, organized, and reliable connections.

• Integrate and configure security systems using platforms such as Lenel, DMP, and other enterprise-level security solutions.

• Pull, route, and secure low-voltage cabling in accordance with project specifications and industry best practices.

• Conduct testing and verification of access control, intrusion, and CCTV systems to confirm proper operation and compliance with design requirements.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to wiring, terminations, and system performance in a timely and efficient manner.

• Collaborate with other technicians and trades on-site to coordinate installation activities and minimize disruptions.

• Follow all site-specific safety procedures and standards while working in a data center environment.

• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including as-built information, cable labeling, and system configurations.

• Demonstrate a strong aptitude for learning new systems, tools, and installation techniques, especially for entry-level technicians.

• Support long-term project goals by delivering consistent, high-quality installation work over the duration of the 2–3 year project.

Essential Skills

• Experience with security installation, including access control, intrusion systems, and CCTV, is strongly preferred.

• Hands-on experience pulling wire, especially for entry-level candidates, is preferred.

• Ability to perform terminations and wiring for access control points and intrusion systems.

• Familiarity with security integration concepts, including access control panels (ACP) and intrusion alarms.

• Previous security installation experience, even at a basic level, is considered a plus.

• Strong aptitude and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and installation methods.

• Ability to work a schedule that typically starts between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. and ends around 2:30–3:30 p.m.

• Capacity to follow technical instructions and project specifications in a data center environment.

• For more experienced levels: 1 or more years of security installation experience, with higher levels requiring 2–3 years or multiple years of experience and the ability to work with minimal training.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plain City, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $38.00/hr.
