English as a Second Language Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated ESL Teacher to help students develop their English language skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching English to non-native speakers, fostering a supportive classroom environment, and adapting lesson plans to meet students' diverse language needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach English language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) to students whose first language is not English.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that engage students and promote language acquisition.
• Assess students' language proficiency and progress regularly.
• Adapt lessons and teaching methods to meet individual student needs, including varying proficiency levels.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
• Provide constructive feedback to students on their progress.
• Utilize a variety of teaching materials and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student progress and development.
• Prepare students for English proficiency exams, if applicable.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress.
• Support students with cultural integration and adapting to life in an English-speaking environment.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements

Eligible candidates must possess or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in English as a Second Language, PreK-12. A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience is preferred.
