Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in MS This position involves performing independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards. The role includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, as well as providing health teaching, health counseling, and restorative therapy to patients. The nurse will ensure documentation complies with hospital and regulatory guidelines and may be required to float to other departments within scope of competency.

Job Details

• Position Description: Performs nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care.
• Evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data.
• Provides health teaching and health counseling.
• Executes delegated medical functions and refers patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
• Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
• Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• Uses resources as needed.
• Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization and adheres to service behavior standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency based on business need.
• May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
• Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing required; Bachelor's degree of Nursing preferred.
• Certifications & Licensure: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice required; BLS certification from the American Heart Association required; ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications as appropriate for the unit or service.
• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Experience: 0 years minimum required.
