Commercial Truck Driver

Drivers commercial truck and trailer to transport utility poles to and from specified destinations applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads. Loads/unloads utility poles by operating attached boom. Responsible for pickup and delivery paperwork.

Responsibilities:

• Inspects equipment for safety prior to use and performs necessary basic maintenance tasks
• Inspects and ensures that truck and trailer are in satisfactory "over the road" condition
• Inspects and ensures that load is secured to meet regulations and product is protected during transport
• Complies with state and deferral regulations and laws
• Complies with company policies and procedures
• Maintains organized and detailed documentation
• Delivers products to customers in a timely, efficient, cost-effective and safe manner while preserving quality of loaded products
• Operate boom equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
• Reports any unusual conditions encountered at customer location or in route
• Performs emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs
• Performs other work-related duties as required

Candidate Qualifications/Requirements:

• Current valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with exceptional driving record
• Minimum two years "over the road" driving experience
• Ability to read and understand maps, routes, road signs

• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Basic tablet/smart phone skills
