Overview Overview Section ShiftsAvailable: Days Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 8-hour shifts Location: Mission Regional Medical Center – Mission, TX We are seeking a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I(CPT I), alsoreferred to asa CertifiedPhlebotomyTech.The CertifiedPhlebotomy Technician(CPT) will beresponsible for drawing blood and handling specimens, ensuring proper identification, labeling, and transport to the lab. They also maintain equipment, adhere to quality and safety protocols, record patient data, and collaborate with other departments to ensure effective patient care. Responsibilities ResponsibilitiesSection Preparepatients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensurepatient comfort and safety throughout the process Responsible forcorrectbloodcollection, draw blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques;ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, ensureall specimens are properly processed and stored Adhereto quality control and safety protocols tomaintainthe integrity of specimens and ensureaccuratetest results Maintain and calibratephlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensureeverything is in working order and properly sanitized Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures asrequired, often with minimal supervision Qualifications QualificationsSection 1. High School Diploma, or equivalent, required. 2. Current and valid state certification as a CPT I, required. 3. BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current, required. 4. Minimum of one (1) year of clinical laboratory experience, preferred.
