Senior Management Analyst
The Department of Business & Industry is recruiting to fill a Senior Management Analyst position with the Life and Health section of the Division of Insurance in Carson City. The incumbent manages the Division's Mental Health Parity Study and prepares the annual report for submission to the Nevada Legislature and supports compliance efforts in coordination with Division leadership and assists the Lead Actuary as well as the Life and Health section in implementing the Risk Management Program for Nevada's Public Option health insurance plans, known as Battle Born Health Plans. The incumbent will also support grant-funded work related to EHB and Mental Health Parity. Effective collaboration and communication with peers, co-workers, management, staff from various state agencies, members of the public, public officials, and vendors are essential for success in this position. Incumbent(s) will be expected to have knowledge, skills and abilities from a previous level. Knowledge of: Techniques of statistical analysis including data collection, evaluation, analysis, and manipulation; legislative proceedings and processes; government agencies, resources, and functions to locate and obtain needed information and/or resources; accepted practices and methods used in designing program reviews and audits.
Skill in: Developing computer generated reports. Organizing, developing, and making presentations. Mathematical and statistical computation and research and analysis techniques. Designing analytical research studies and identifying research needs and problems. Coordinating and implementing diverse work plans.
Ability to: Read and interpret technical reports, governmental publications, and federal directives; write comprehensive analytical, narrative, and statistical reports, recommendations, and legislative proposals.

Deferred Compensation: The State offers a voluntary Deferred Compensation Program. No Nevada state income tax. Public Service Loan Forgiveness: Eligible due to public sector employment. Longevity Payments Eligibility: Employees who have received a performance rating of "standard" or better and have completed eight (8) or more years of continuous service are eligible for longevity pay.

When January 1, June 19, July 4, November 11, or December 25 falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday is the observed legal holiday.
