The Buyer executes procurement activities and closely interacts with multiple internal departments to assist and review business requirements. This role negotiates with suppliers on a regular basis, identifies cost-saving opportunities, examines prices, reviews and manages availability of products or services; compares scopes of work and reviews alternatives to fulfill objectives.ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day purchasing workflows, specifically the purchase order (PO) placement process to ensure on time delivery of product and on-time payment of all invoicesManages exceptions and works with suppliers to resolve invoice or delivery discrepanciesCreates purchase orders from requisitionsFacilitates periodic requests for quote (RFQ) to all appropriate suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and payment terms, as well as managing the portfolio of items that the company carriesReviews inventory and purchasing data to support sourcing needsIdentifies and executes cost and payment term improvement plans with suppliersMonitors supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications; maintaining a supplier scorecard to ensure company requirements are met and supplier is aware of their performanceAssists in contract negotiation and requests quotes to secure competitive pricingCollaborates with suppliers and internal teams to maintain quality and delivery standardsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentBachelor's degree preferredMinimum of 2 years of purchasing experience in related fieldAbility to effectively participate as a member of a project team, interfacing with various departmental representativesAnalytical capability in terms of metrics, volumes, trends, financial information is requiredExcellent written and oral communication skills are requiredAbility to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and projects in an environment of competing prioritiesSolid problem solving and decision-making skillsStrong computer skills including G-Suite knowledge, MS Word and MS PowerPointAdvanced MS Excel skillsExperience in Oracle / SAP / Similar ERP*Compensation varies based on location and experience*Recruiter:Danielle Levitan (View email address on click.appcast.io)Please note that the compensation information is made in good faith for this position only.
