Position Overview Industrial Outside Sales Representative Location: Ocala, FL Territory: Ocala, FL; Gainesville, FL; Brooksville, FL; and surrounding areas Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $60,000–$70,000 per year, based on experience, plus quarterly variable compensation Position Overview A-JAX Company is seeking an experienced Industrial Outside Sales Representative to manage customer relationships and develop new business throughout an assigned territory. This position is ideal for someone with experience in industrial distribution, construction supply, manufacturing, MRO, wholesale distribution, building materials, or a related B2B sales environment . The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing accounts, identifying new business opportunities, understanding customer requirements, and recommending products and solutions that meet customer needs. This role also offers the opportunity to step into an established territory with existing customer relationships . The current Outside Sales Representative is planning to retire in the coming months, creating an opportunity for knowledge transfer and a smooth transition. For the right candidate, there may also be flexibility to begin in Inside Sales and transition into the Outside Sales Representative role as product knowledge, customer familiarity, and territory experience are developed. Responsibilities Manage and develop relationships with existing customers throughout the assigned territory Identify and pursue new business opportunities Prospect for new accounts through territory development, referrals, networking, and customer outreach Manage the sales process from initial contact through close Meet with customers to understand project requirements, purchasing needs, and business priorities Recommend products and solutions based on customer applications and requirements Develop new accounts while identifying opportunities to expand existing customer relationships Build long-term relationships with contractors, manufacturers, maintenance teams, industrial facilities, and other commercial customers Learn the needs, purchasing patterns, and opportunities within the existing territory Maintain strong working knowledge of company products, services, and capabilities Prepare and respond to customer requirements, including RFIs and RFPs Develop territory sales plans and account growth strategies Partner with the Vice President of Sales on annual sales forecasts and strategic growth initiatives Create and manage a weekly customer visit and prospecting schedule Maintain accurate customer activity, opportunities, and account information within the company CRM Monitor competitor offerings, pricing, capabilities, and market activity Follow up on customer requests, quotes, projects, and sales opportunities Collaborate with internal sales, operations, and support teams to provide a strong customer experience Perform additional related duties as assigned Qualifications 2+ years of outside sales, account management, or business development experience preferred Previous experience in industrial distribution, construction supply, fasteners, MRO, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, building materials, or a related B2B environment strongly preferred Experience selling products or services to contractors, manufacturers, maintenance departments, construction companies, industrial facilities, or commercial customers is highly desirable Experience developing new business while maintaining and growing existing customer accounts Experience managing a geographic sales territory and conducting in-person customer visits preferred Strong consultative selling and problem-solving skills Ability to understand customer projects, purchasing requirements, and product applications Strong communication and relationship-building skills Strong organization, follow-up, and time-management skills Ability to independently plan customer visits and territory activity Experience using CRM systems to track customer activity and opportunities Ability to work effectively with internal sales and support teams Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally throughout the assigned territory Preferred Industry Background Candidates with sales experience in one or more of the following areas are especially encouraged to apply: Industrial supply or industrial distribution Fasteners, hardware, or related products Construction or contractor supply MRO products and services Manufacturing or fabrication Building materials Tools and equipment Safety products Wholesale distribution Commercial or industrial products Technical or application-based sales Candidates with strong Inside Sales experience in an industrial, wholesale, or distribution environment may also be considered for a developmental path into the Outside Sales role. Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday Primarily during standard business hours Schedule flexibility may be required based on customer appointments and job-site needs Travel This position requires regular local and day travel throughout the assigned sales territory. The territory currently includes: Ocala, FL Gainesville, FL Surrounding markets Brooksville, FL may also be included based on business needs. Overnight travel is not typically required. Compensation The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,000–$70,000 per year , depending on experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for quarterly variable compensation based on the applicable company compensation plan.
