Financial Operations AnalystWork Location: Butte, MTPay range: Starting base wage of $65,000 to $85,000 per year D.O.E.Employment Status: Regular Full-timeJob SpecificationsThe Financial Operations Analyst provides operational accounting activities and financial analysis for departments within the operations division. The position coordinates divisional accounting requirements, supports annual and monthly operating and capital budgets and forecasts, prepares reporting, and serves as the accounting and finance liaison for the operating division.Position SummaryProvide operational accounting support and financial analysis for the operations division. Coordinate accounting requirements, budget and forecast support, and financial reporting; use SAP and PowerPlan systems for daily activities; and serve as the primary Finance contact for the operating division.Pay Range: Starting base wage of $65,000 to $85,000 per year D.O.E.Location: Butte, MTEssential FunctionsPrepare financial analysis for the operating divisionAssist in developing the division's operating budget, capital budget, and forecastsEstablish and maintain an effective system for analyzing the operating performance of work unitsServe as the primary Finance contact for the operating divisionEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with division managersUse SAP for order and project creation, release, closeout, and financial reporting in accordance with established work processes and accounting requirementsProvide monthly analysis of capital and operations and maintenance expenditures for operating areasProvide operational accounting setup and support through an understanding of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission guidelines and requirementsPrepare accounting journal entriesProcess cash as necessary for work processes within operating divisionsSupport year-end accounting close activitiesMaintain the operating area construction work in progress ledgerPerform billing functions related to damages, customer-requested relocations, Montana Department of Transportation work, advances, contributions in aid of construction, and other applicable itemsPerform other duties and functions as appropriateAdditional ResponsibilitiesAdhere to NorthWestern Energy safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct and EthicsEnsure all actions are consistent with Bright Horizon Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectivesThe ability to maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position, consistent with applicable laws and reasonable accommodation requirementsWhat Is RequiredDemonstrate and maintain a good safety recordFour-year degree in Finance or Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with three or more years of related experienceUnderstanding of operating and capital budgeting processes, financial analysis techniques, financial reporting, and accounting principlesStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsStrong spreadsheet, word-processing, and computer application skillsAbility to use technology to solve business problemsAbility to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organizationWhat Is DesiredExperience using SAP and PowerPlanGet Into Energy - Energy Industry Fundamental 2.0 certification is a plus (click the link to certify at no cost)About NorthWestern EnergyNorthWestern Energy is a fully regulated electric and natural gas utility serving Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska.
