Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with an Arkansas-based community bank to find their next Accounting Associate in Little Rock, AR. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced accounting and finance professionals while gaining exposure to a broad range of banking and accounting functions.

Unlike highly specialized accounting roles in larger organizations, this role provides visibility into the full financial operations of a community bank - including loans, deposits, payment systems, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The position is designed to support both experienced accounting professionals and individuals looking to build a long-term career in bank accounting, finance, or financial management.

The client is open to candidates ranging from recent graduates to experienced accounting clerks.

Duties will include:

• Process invoices and support accounts payable activities
• Assist with corporate credit card administration, reconciliations, and expense tracking
• Support wire processing and other banking transaction activities
• Perform daily and monthly account reconciliations
• Assist with journal entries and general ledger maintenance
• Support balancing and settlement activities related to deposits, loans, and payment systems
• Research and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies
• Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting support
• Support audit preparation and regulatory examination requests
• Collaborate with operations and lending teams to better understand transaction activity and banking operations
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and departmental projects
• Take on additional responsibilities and cross-functional exposure as skills and experience develop over time

Ideal candidate will possess :

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
• Prior accounting, bookkeeping, banking, or related experience preferred but not required
• Recent graduates with strong accounting aptitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic Microsoft Excel and computer proficiency
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new concepts and processes
