Assesses the educational and experience needs of all levels of nursing staff in collaboration with the individual and CHS EducationProvides on-site orientation to new staff following new employee orientation, including outlining job requirements and expectations, policies and procedures, and proper use of equipmentResponds to clinical emergencies as necessary, provides immediate direction and support to clinical staffDevelops productivity and performance standards for the clinic, communicates expectations to nursing staff, and monitors for complianceDevelops clinic assignments and duties of nursing staff to ensure that the patient care needs of the clinic are metProvides direct clinical care to patients in accordance with CHS policies and procedures, regulatory guidelines, and community standards of careDevelops clinic-specific operating procedures to ensure compliance with CHS policies and procedures and to promote operational effectivenessReviews nursing documentation and Electronic Health Record (TechCare) queues to ensure that nursing tasks are completed (ID Screening, TB reads, Health Assessments, Facility Moves, Alerts, Sick Call Appointments, HNRs, etc.)Ensures that equipment and supplies necessary for the daily operation of the clinic are availableCommunicates with nursing staff through regularly scheduled monthly staff meetings, assuring that meeting minutes are posted, distributed, and acknowledged by all staffAssures that all mandatory training and other mandatory requirements, such as annual TST are completed by the staff within target datesParticipates in the interviewing, selection, orientation, and training of nursing staff for vacant positionsWorking Conditions:Ability to work inside a jail and stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time throughout the shift while accurately handling a high volume of work, communicating with a culturally diverse patient population, and adapting to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasksTravel or floating to various clinical locations is required within a 5-mile radiusPosition also includes day or night shift work, which may include weekends and holidaysMust be able to respond to emergenciesMust maintain CPR and First Aid certification and get on the floor to perform CPR/chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurneyMust be able to pass a fingerprint background check and maintain MCSO jail accessAn active and valid BLS, CPR, and First Aid Certifications that meet the AHA curriculum standards, with in-person skills test and hands-on demonstration components is required by the start dateSelection Procedure:Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applicationsCandidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profileMust pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitiveMaricopa County is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
