Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA Job Description Physical Therapist Assistant supports the Physical Therapist in implementing resident‑specific treatment plans. Shift: FT and PRN PTA Responsibilities Provides direct treatment to patients in accordance with the established plan of care developed by the supervising Physical Therapist. Is alert to detect signs and symptoms of favorable and unfavorable reactions to treatment. Reporting adverse responses to treatment immediately to the physical therapist. Accurately and regularly record all pertinent information regarding the Physical Therapy treatment program. Accurate and timely documentation of the need for the skilled service in each record entry. Consistently perform at the required productivity level, maintaining effective time management according to the daily schedule. Attend and contribute to patient care plan meetings for an interdisciplinary collaboration. Communicates patient’s response to treatment and progress toward established goals with the supervising physical therapist. Active participation in program development and clinical programming. Identify best practices for Physical Therapy practice and share with the Rehab Team. Assist patients in achieving critical outcomes while acting as a trusted partner within the community.
