Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at an acute care facility in Santa Rosa, CA, requiring 1 year of OR experience and an active CA RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting, Operating Room unit
• Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts starting at 7:00 AM (some variable shifts, primarily 8:30 AM start)
• 13-week contract
• Performs a wide range of surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, gynecological, urological, ENT, ophthalmology, plastics, and podiatry cases
• Pediatric ENT cases included (myringotomy with tubes, tonsillectomy/adenoids)
• Uses electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and endoscopic equipment
• Epic EMR (required)
• Floating required within the hospital and to affiliate facilities nearby; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending license accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of OR experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Copies of certifications required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted; a 50-mile radius rule applies (local candidates considered at a lower rate)
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days for the duration of the contract
• Scrubs or business casual attire accepted
• Competency in infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, universal protocol (time-out), urinary bladder catheterization, and wound management is expected
• Housing options in the area may be limited; candidates are encouraged to research accommodations early
