Details Multi-specialty unit primarily focused on medical/surgical telemetry care 24/7 acute care unit accommodating up to 36 patients Medical patients include dialysis and telemetry monitoring along with other acute medical needs Surgical patient populations include orthopedic procedures (fractures, shoulders, backs) and general surgery (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, colon resection) Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, supported by a Team Leader out of staffing Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM 36 hours per week with every other weekend required Holiday coverage required as scheduled Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals Uses Meditech EMR Requirements Active RN license (State of Alabama or Compact) required, no temporary or pending licenses accepted Current AHA BLS certification required 2 years of RN experience required; will consider 18 months of experience with 1 year of recent experience in specialty Associate degree in nursing required NURSYS verification required No history of license actions, past or current Additional Information Provide patient-centered care supporting recovery with a strong focus on pain management, mobility, and prevention of complications Join a dedicated team of nursing and ancillary staff fostering a culture of teamwork and family Solid navy scrubs required Local candidates accepted at the same rates with no mile radius restrictions On-site cardiac/telemetry testing required in addition to online pre-test Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules American Traveler Job ID P-749976.
