Groundskeeping Lead - Coppell ISD Grounds

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Groundskeeper Lead to help maintain the appearance, safety, and overall condition of outdoor spaces in Coppell, Texas. This hands-on leadership role works alongside the grounds crew while helping coordinate daily landscaping and grounds maintenance activities. Day-to-day work includes mowing, trimming, planting, weed control, facility grounds upkeep, equipment operation, and seasonal property maintenance. The ideal candidate has experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, lawn care, or horticulture and can safely operate landscaping equipment while leading by example. This position involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires someone who is dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently. Pay for this position is $23.00 per hour.


Job Responsibilities
• Lead and support daily groundskeeping and landscaping operations across assigned properties.
• Perform mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, planting, fertilizing, sweeping, and leaf removal.
• Maintain lawns, landscaped areas, sidewalks, parking lots, driveways, and other outdoor spaces.
• Operate landscaping equipment including power mowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, sprayers, chainsaws, and related tools.
• Operate trucks, tractors, and equipment attachments as needed for grounds maintenance projects.
• Perform seasonal duties such as leaf cleanup, salting, ice removal, and other weather-related site support activities.
• Inspect grounds regularly and identify opportunities to improve appearance, efficiency, and service quality.
• Conduct basic maintenance and minor repairs on lawn equipment and landscaping tools.
• Train and assist new team members on equipment use, job duties, and safety proures.
• Follow all safety policies, report equipment issues, and ensure groundskeeping work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Work outdoors throughout the year in changing weather and environmental conditions.


Qualifications

• Required
  • At least 1 year of groundskeeping, landscaping, lawn care, horticulture, or outdoor maintenance experience.
  • Valid non-commercial driver's license.
  • Experience operating power landscape equipment such as mowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, and sprayers.
  • Working knowledge of grounds maintenance and landscaping best practices.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and safely operate equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a team.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, push, and perform physically demanding outdoor work throughout the shift.
  Preferred
  • Previous experience as a Groundskeeper Lead, Crew Lead, Landscaping Lead, or similar supervisory role.
  • Experience operating tractors, utility vehicles, or equipment attachments.
  • Experience training or mentoring groundskeeping team members.
