Diesel Technician

Position Description Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. Compensation & Schedule Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification, up to $700 Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday Hours: Second Shift Tuesday‑Thursday 2:30 pm– 11:00 pm; Friday 12:00 pm– 8:30 pm; Saturday 6:00 am– 2:30 pm Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days 80 hours PTO first year, starting Day 1 Yearly merit pay increases 401(k) company match PPE, uniforms, and boot allowance Paid training Safety‑first workplace & state‑of‑the‑art equipment Top Tech Competition: Earn $250 – $50,000 per year U.S. military veteran extra paid day off 15% company stock discount Up to $5,000 in tuition repayment 12 weeks paid maternity leave (qualifying criteria apply) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech, and more Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational or technical certification / post‑secondary degree preferred Basic tools required Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) Two years or more of classroom training and work experience (preferred) Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor‑vehicle check Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle records check, road test, and/or customer‑specific background requirements. Responsibilities Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties Execute standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections Conduct preventive maintenance Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment when applicable Identify root causes of basic failures/conditions and perform required repairs Replace defective components as instructed Perform facility maintenance duties Interact with customers/drivers to determine complaint nature once assigned a task Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT) Perform other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support) Equal Opportunity Statement Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and drug‑free workplace.
