Product Manager - Materials BU

Wolfspeed is looking for a Materials Product Manager, who will be primarily responsible for product management and technical marketing of Wolfspeed Materials. Focus for the position is on the global market, existing and future customers, and working with the internal technical and operations organizations in conjunction with inside and outside sales to translate technical requirements to and from the company.General Position DescriptionThis position requires a candidate with the creativity, vision, and detail to breakdown and match customer requirements with internal technical capabilities and find new and innovative ways to solve problems. The right candidate could have a significant impact in the next product platform innovations that are introduced into the market. The position interacts directly with our materials customers and internal team,operations personnel, and commercial sales to deliver the right products to the right customer at the right time.Position ResponsibilitiesDevelop market requirement documents and product requirement documents with prioritized features, corresponding justification, target market applications and business plan supportLead technical presentations with customers on technical issues related to the products and applicationsChampion internal development of new requirements to support customer demand and drive qualification of these products at the customerPartner with the quality team to manage quality issues with customers and synchronize with internal organizational teamsAcute awareness of market trends and directions from direct customer interaction, conference attendance, and publication reviewBe an expert on competitors’ capabilities and product positioning in the market while understanding the end market uses and requirementsWork with sales on product specifications for special business opportunitiesManage product portfolios from market launch through obsolescence of all wafersInterface with R&D, NPI engineering, Production/Operations, and Quality to build and sustain the product linesDevelop and define product roadmaps for existing and future product lines. Generation and distribution of sales tools, application notes and/or technical guidelinesUnderstand cost models to support product pricing strategiesPosition RequirementsDegree in Materials Science, Semiconductor Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical degree7-10 years of semiconductor product management, product engineering, product marketing and/or applications engineeringGood general knowledge of both the sales and semiconductor product manufacturing processesProven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authorityStrong verbal, written, and presentation communications skills to a broad audience of influences. May include short conference presentationsComfort with in-person, high stakes meetingsWillingness and flexibility availability to travel, including internationally as necessarySelf-motivated with strong drive to achieve business objectivesAbility to blend the technical and commercial to deliver a balanced approach to problemsStrong analytical skills and experienceOutstanding follow throughPreferred skills and certifications:Master’s Degree in Materials Science, Semiconductor Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical degree.
