Team members work closely with a patient's physician to provide comprehensive, individualized care in the comfort of their home or at our inpatient hospice facility in Durham, NC.Work arrangement part-time 16 hours per week - days will varyOcc SummaryResponsible for the delivery of products to recipients in a courteous and efficient manner.Work PerformedDelivers pharmaceuticals, supplies, and equipment in safe, accountable manner.Picks up sharps containers and disposes of biohazardous waste according to established infection control procedures.Visually inspects assigned vehicle daily for obvious maintenance problems (e.g., worn tires, cracked mirrors, signal lights not working, etc.)Maintains assigned vehicle in clean and orderly condition, both inside and outside; informs supervisor of mechanical or safety problems.Ensures that routine mechanical maintenance is performed on assigned vehicle.Maintains current driver's license and current automobile insurance at required levels of coverage.Handles customer complaints patiently and in a fair and empathetic manner.Uses safe lifting techniques in loading and unloading equipment.Accurately pulls, packages, and ships medical supplies from packing lists/delivery tickets for patients.Maintains a positive relationship and understanding of the services provided by both Duke-employed and contracted couriers.May be required to perform various general warehousing duties, such as picking of patient supplies, shipping, receiving, and general warehouse cleaning.Receives incoming supplies from various distributors. Once received, supplies are unloaded from pallets and properly placed on warehouse shelving units.May be required to safely lift up to 50 poundsPerforms other duties as requiredMinimum QualificationsEducationWork requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions generally acquired through a partial high school education.ExperiencePreferred: 6 months of customer service experienceDegrees, Licensures, CertificationsA valid North Carolina driver's license must be maintained with a good driving record free of restrictions.
