Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Lunch Break: 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM (flexible work hours may occur).

Saturdays are required as part of the position.

Job Description

The Rehabilitation Services department offers a comprehensive range of services, including occupational, physical, and speech therapies. The Occupational Therapy (OT) segment specifically focuses on evaluating and treating individuals experiencing injuries, disabilities, or emotional challenges, with the goal of enhancing, maintaining, or restoring their functional capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Management of Patient Care (75%)
  
  
  • Assess and evaluate patients' level of function, collecting objective measurements and using outcome measures related to Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), range of motion (ROM), strength, and function.
  • Provide direct patient treatment in accordance with a developed occupational therapy plan of care under physician referral.
  • Consult with activities coordinators to plan and implement engaging activity programs for individuals and groups.
  • Instruct patients and staff on occupational therapy recommendations and provide consultative support as needed.
  • Document all services delivered, maintain accurate treatment records, and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Coordinate discharge follow-up with community agencies as necessary.
  • Utilize principles of pain management to ensure patient comfort.
  • Provide culturally sensitive care tailored to each patient's unique needs.
• Departmental and Administrative Responsibilities (10%)
  
  
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating the occupational therapy program.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the departmental budget, ensuring adherence and monitoring variances.
  • Support departmental in-service training aimed at elevating the quality of patient care.
• Human Relations and Personal Development (5%)
  
  
  • Maintain effective communication and demonstrate exceptional customer service within the department and with patients.
  • Engage in continuous personal education, professional development, and training.
• Additional Duties (5%)
  
  
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to promote cohesive treatment plans and patient rehabilitation goals.
  • Conduct in-service training for staff and assist in orienting new personnel.

Qualifications

• Must obtain a Hawaii PT license as soon as possible.
• Commitment to ongoing education and development in the field.
