TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Tucson, Arizona, 85712!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years PACU experience required. License: Valid RN license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required. Must-Have: EPIC experience required. Telemetry skills required. Preferred experience with pediatric recovery. Must be comfortable with ICU patients or willing to learn. No first-time travelers. Description: Upcoming orientation dates are 7/20, and 8/31. Currently, there are 12 hours of call per scheduling period, but this can increase or decrease. Patient ratio is 1:2. Travel experience is required. Previous charge experience is preferred. Charting system experience, preferably with EPIC, is desired. High volume of pediatric surgery is performed in this specialty. Patients include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census is over 60, with 48 beds available. Acuity ranges from ICU to outpatient care. Special procedures involve managing patients boarded in PACU when house capacity is reached. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Major patient diagnoses include orthopedic, neuro, and general surgeries. Skills required involve monitoring, medication administration, and various surgical recovery care processes. Additional skills related to airway management, monitoring, and patient assessments are essential for this role. A focus on hypoglycemia/hyperglycemia protocols, intubation, and pain management is crucial. The unit will require flexibility to float between similar areas as needed. Weekend call may be required based on rotation. Blocked scheduling will not be accommodated. Only eligible candidates with one DUI record which occurred a year or more ago will be considered.
