This generalist role builds on experience gained during the licensing period and is responsible for providing accurate appraisals of real property of increased and varied complexity. Real estate appraisals may include valuing land with varying water rights, lands in transition, permanent plantings, recreational properties and assisting on large complex appraisal assignments including facility appraisals. Key Responsibilities Prepare real estate appraisals on selected properties, completing increasingly complex assignments that may involve pledged collateral for large or complex loans. Assist senior staff in developing real estate appraisals on large complex valuations. Complete appraisals under delegated authority or under the supervision of a senior staff member. Collect sales information from a variety of sources (county websites, MLS, realtor websites). Leverage established relationships with realtors and others to obtain documentation and verification of sales and market data. Prepare appraisals for outside fee customers. Respond to Association staff or others by providing written and verbal information about appraisal programs and projects. Effectively work with customers and other Association employees. Respond independently to requests for information and assistance. Apply approved appraisal techniques and analyze complex agricultural operations. Complete appraisals outside the region as directed. Initiate written and telephone communications to obtain information and related documents. Perform other duties assigned. Required Qualifications BA/BS degree in agriculture, management, business, economics, real estate, accounting, or equivalent. Certified General Appraiser License and compliance with continuing education requirements. Greater than 3 years of real estate appraisal experience. Ability to travel moderately during job performance. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective collaboration with employees at all levels. Ability to convey ideas clearly and make sound appraisal and business decisions. Proficiency in PC use, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and appraisal software. Current or working toward professional appraisal designation by a national appraisal society (ARA or MAI preferred). Job Requirements & Physical Demands Perform basic office tasks in a typical office setting; sit for extended periods and work at a computer. Must be able to walk, hear, speak, use hands and fingers, and reach in all directions. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds. Drive a four-wheel-drive vehicle to inspect rural properties. Walk ½ mile, navigate steep terrain and/or construction sites, safely cross fences. Work during established business hours; occasional weekend and/or evening work possible. Must have a valid Class C driver’s license. Moderate level of travel required. Compensation Pay range: Minimum $78,170.53 – Max $125,072.84 Annual. This range reflects the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for the physical location of the hired candidate. Salary is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates. Work Location Part‑time remote/hybrid. These employees will work partly remote and partly onsite. Part‑time remote employees will work with their managers to determine when and how often they are needed onsite.
