Court Facilitator

Court Facilitator The Court Facilitator supports self‑represented litigants in the Polk County Circuit Court in Dallas, Oregon. This role involves preparing and reviewing court pleadings, scheduling hearings, and guiding litigants and attorneys through court processes. The facilitator provides educational materials, referrals to legal resources, and serves as a subject‑matter expert on family‑law procedures. Additionally, the position requires reporting on program effectiveness, cross‑training in court operations, and delivering training to staff. Responsibilities Assist self‑represented litigants with case issues and legal documents. Accept, review, and create court pleadings and new cases. Schedule court hearings and explain court forms and processes. Provide educational materials and referrals for legal and other resources to parents and children. Offer support in person, via video, telephone, and written communication. Act as the subject‑matter expert on family‑law processes for judges, staff, attorneys, and the public. Provide recommendations and feedback on program efficiencies and help implement changes. Prepare statistical and informational reports for the Trial Court Administrator, judges, and staff. Participate in cross‑training on all aspects of court operations and provide training to others as needed. Adapt assigned tasks to meet workload and organizational needs. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least three (3) years of clerical experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving financial, administrative, or legal documents; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Qualifications None. Requested Skills and Attributes Experience performing clerical or administrative support tasks, including computer use, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accuracy in a noisy environment. Experience explaining processes, procedures, or policies. Experience responding professionally to customers or clients facing challenging life circumstances, stress, or trauma. Experience reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness. Experience identifying and safeguarding confidential information and materials. Spanish language communication skills are preferred but not required. Benefits Medical insurance coverage (95%–99% of premiums for full‑time employees, including mental health). Five percent allowance for bilingual skills (including ASL) upon passing a skills test and assignment to use those skills. Ten paid holidays, two floating holidays, and three personal business days. Separate paid sick and vacation leave (prorated for part‑time employees). Optional insurances and flexible spending plans.
