Manager - Epic Revenue Cycle Readiness

The Manager – Epic Revenue Cycle Readiness is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and oversight of Epic-related end-user education and adoption across revenue cycle functions. This role ensures that Epic training supports efficient, compliant, and financially optimized workflows, aligning with organizational performance goals, regulatory requirements, and Epic best practices. The Manager leads revenue cycle training readiness teams and acts as a key liaison between revenue cycle leadership, IT, training resources, and operational stakeholders. This role bridges system functionality and revenue cycle operations by translating Epic build, billing rules, and workflows into effective education, adoption strategies, and ongoing support.Baptist Health Care is a not-for-profit health care system committed to improving the quality of life for people and communities in northwest Florida and south Alabama. Additional information about this requirement can be found here: Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse5 years of experience in Epic or other EHR revenue cycle systems, healthcare finance operations, informatics, or training roles, required.1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in training, revenue cycle operations, or application support, required.1 year of experience supporting Epic implementations, upgrades, or revenue cycle optimization initiatives, preferred. 1 year of experience leading revenue cycle training or readiness teams in a health system environment, preferred.1 year of experience in patient access, coding, billing, or revenue cycle operations, preferred.Bachelor's degree in education, finance, health care administration, health informatics, information systems or other related field, required. Epic certification in revenue cycle related modules or ability to attain Epic certification within defined timeframe determined at time of hire. As part of our selection process, candidates being considered for this position will be required to complete a Sphinx Assessment, which is used to evaluate job-related competencies and determine overall suitability for the role. Successful completion of the assessment is a required component of the hiring process.This position also requires active participation in various phases of the Epic application lifecycle, including but not limited to implementation, go-live support, stabilization, optimization, and system upgrades. Candidates must be willing and able to accommodate the demands associated with these activities, which may include:Working additional hours outside of regularly scheduled business hours, including evenings and weekends, as project needs dictate.Participating in on-site go-live and support activities across multiple organizational locations.Traveling occasionally for Epic training, certification, project meetings, or other work-related purposes, including travel outside of the state.Traveling between organizational facilities to provide operational, project, and end-user support.Candidates should be prepared to maintain flexibility in their schedules to support critical project milestones and organizational operational needs. Provides leadership and operational oversight for Epic revenue cycle end-user readiness education functions. Establishes and maintains standardized approaches to training, workflow adoption, and performance optimization. Ensures training content aligns with Epic build, governance decisions, revenue integrity standards, and operational KPIs (e.g., DNFB, clean claim rate, AR days). Directly manages principal trainers and related education resources supporting revenue cycle workflows. Oversees staffing models, onboarding, performance management, and professional development. Ensures team maintains required Epic certifications, proficiencies, and instructional design capabilities. Develops and oversees training strategies for implementations, upgrades, regulatory updates, and optimization initiatives. Ensures timely development and delivery of role-based Epic curriculum (front desk, patient access, HIM, coding, billing, and finance teams). Partners with Epic Application Managers to ensure training reflects current system build, payer requirements, and operational workflows. Continuously improves training effectiveness using performance metrics, audit results, denial trends, and user feedback. Serves as the educational leader supporting revenue cycle workflow standardization, efficiency, and compliance. Partners with revenue cycle leaders to identify workflow gaps impacting financial performance and user adoption. Supports change management efforts by addressing adoption risks and training gaps during system and operational changes. Participates in Epic governance, revenue cycle councils, and change control processes. Ensures education supports regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, billing compliance, coding standards) and internal audit readiness. Promotes consistent documentation, billing practices, and workflow adherence across the organization. Identifies and escalates risks related to user readiness, compliance exposure, or revenue leakage. Collaborates with Epic Application Managers (e.g., Resolute Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, Cadence, Prelude) to align build and training. Partners with revenue cycle operations, finance, compliance, and IT leadership to drive enterprise initiatives. Serves as an escalation point for revenue cycle training and adoption issues. Maintains responsibility for department’s operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards. Manages team members, which includes orientation, development and evaluation of team members, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates team member’s performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards. Maintains responsibility for the fiscal management of department and assures proper utilization of organization’s financial resources. Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff. Assists in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
