Step into a rewarding full-time opportunity providing specialized support to high school students as a contract professional. Work with a focused caseload of approximately 14–20 students, offering assistance within a resource room environment. Your expertise enables growth in academic achievement, social-emotional skills, and positive behavior—all essential to help these students thrive.
This role is based near Livonia, MI, with nearby Dearborn hosting the position. The assignment is set to start September 8, 2026, and if you’re able to start before August 27, you’ll also be able to participate in professional development opportunities, further enhancing your skills and preparing you for a successful school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Prior experience in special education roles, especially in high school settings, highly desirable
- Michigan Special Education Certification preferred
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to provide both academic and behavioral interventions
- Professional dedication to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted academic support to high school students, grades 9th or 10th–12th, within a resource room
- Implement effective social-emotional and behavioral interventions
- Develop individualized education strategies tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, and families to track student progress
- Contribute to IEP development and conduct regular progress monitoring
