About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies. The CDO will be responsible for overseeing various fundraising programs, including annual, corporate, foundation, and major gift initiatives. This role involves managing a team of development professionals, as well as a personal portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, to secure significant financial support and meet organizational goals. The successful candidate will be a key member of the senior leadership team, collaborating with the CEO and Board of Directors to set and achieve strategic objectives. Key duties include donor stewardship, database management, and event logistics, with a focus on ensuring the integrity of the CRM donor database and tracking donor interactions. Applicants for the CDO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years' progressive fundraising experience, with a proven track record in closing major gifts, and at least 2 years in a leadership role, is required. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, as well as the ability to engage with diverse populations. Strategic planning, data analysis, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential. A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is preferred. The CDO will be expected to create and execute personalized stewardship plans, secure five- and six-figure gifts, and support special initiatives or capital campaigns.
