This role will transition into a remote position.A Billing Coordinator who excels in this role:Coordinate Central Billing Office activities related to ensuring the collection of funds for all billable services so that goals are met in Bad Debts, AR Days and Cash collectionsSubmission of electronic and paper claims (qOD), processing Patient Statements (qW), posting of electronic payments (within 72 hrs of receipt) are the main activities within this coordination responsibilityVerify all claims are submitted timely and accuratelyDemonstrate understanding of CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding for all practice specialtiesVerify and communicate eligibility, benefits, and patient responsibilities for any assigned accountsPerform special projects related to billing and collection effortsAssist with posting charges, payments, and adjustments to accounts with a high degree of accuracyUnderstanding of federal compliance issues related to billing and collectionsKeep supply expenses at or below those budgetedDevelop a relationship with third party payers and vendors to ensure cash flow is maximizedRequirements and Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree or higher preferredMinimum of one year working in insurance and collecting unpaid accountsKnowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically MS Word and MS ExcelCertifications:CPC or equivalent coding/billing credential required, and medical terminology desiredCentral Billing Office proficiency test completion preferredCertified Professional Biller certification requiredSchedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMOttumwa Regional Health Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
