Maintenance Level 2 - Truck Driver

As a Full-Time Maintenance Level 2 - Truck Driver with the City of Williamsport, you will engage in semi-skilled work that involves operating a motorized dump truck and performing light maintenance on various equipment essential to street upkeep. Your dependable teamwork will shine as you utilize both hand and power tools while executing various tasks tied to street maintenance. Under the general supervision of the Streets Foreman, Administrative Foreman, and Director of Public Works, you will contribute to essential operations, ensuring our infrastructure remains safe and functional. This role embraces a customer-centric approach, allowing you to make a direct impact in the community while working in a supportive, energetic environment.

A successful candidate will excel in following oral and written instructions accurately, demonstrating dependable communication skills. Strong leadership capabilities, allowing you to direct other workers during tasks, are crucial for fostering a collaborative work environment.

Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the public, coworkers, and associates is vital, reflecting our commitment to customer-centricity. Finally, possessing a Commercial Pennsylvania Driver's License, Class B, and maintaining a good driving record will be necessary to ensure safety and compliance in this role.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Thorough knowledge or for ability to learn operation of dump trucks and related equipment for the maintenance and repair of streets.
• Thorough knowledge of or ability to learn small hand and power tools and related equipment
• Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Ability to direct other workers when performing a task.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with the public coworkers and associates.
• Possession of a Commercial Pennsylvania Driver's License Class B with a good driving record status; the City may order a driver's license record at its discretion.
