Sr. Lease Operator

Sr. Lease OperatorThe Sr. Lease Operator performs duties on land and is responsible for the daily operations of the oil and gas processing equipment. The individual will maintain the production rate throughout the system, perform daily operational check of assigned wells and production facilities, ensure that safety devices are operational, and test wells to determine production rates. Additionally, the Sr. Lease Operator will identify problems or potential problems with equipment; prepare documentation / production reports on a periodic basis and assist in the repair of equipment. Sr. Lease Operators are also responsible for ensuring safe and environmentally sound operations in their area or responsibility.Essential Responsibilities/Duties:Gauge production and test wells as requiredEnsure proper reporting of production and downtimeMaintain production rate throughout the systemDaily production data entryOptimize production from wells by adjusting Pump-Off-Controller setpoints, etc.Diagnose well problems with a focus on ensuring production optimizationEnsure compliance with all Environmental, Health and Safety requirementsActively engage with land owners and maintain strong relationships/communication to identify and resolve issuesMay perform minor equipment repairMay participate in leading safety meetings and reviewsConduct business with the highest ethical standards; demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all persons associated with SM facilitiesOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Proficient utilization of Microsoft OfficeAwareness of cost metrics and analysisBasic knowledge of downhole operations, failure analysis, best practicesWorking knowledge of facility construction practices and standardsWorking knowledge in the area of Health, Environmental Compliance and SafetyDemonstrate leadership abilities; takes initiative on team tasksMust have strong interpersonal and communication skillsMust have valid driver's licenseExperience/Education:High School diploma requiredMinimum of 4 years of applicable job/industry experienceCandidates with an engineering degree and no experience will be consideredPhysical Demands:Work in various weather conditions and environmentsMove, transport, and position equipment weighing up to 50 poundsManipulate valves, gauges, and other control mechanismsAbility to operate a motor vehicle to travel between well sitesAbility to climb up to 30 feet in height and function without fearAbility to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle OR valid state driver's license and clean driving recordSM Energy offers competitive compensation and benefits programs which include, but are not limited to, variable pay, health care coverage, retirement plan, protection coverage, time off and leave programs, training and development opportunities and a range of allowances connected to specific work situations.Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
