Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering professional nursing care during assigned shifts, ensuring comprehensive patient assessments, individualized care planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to provide safe, effective, and ethical nursing care in a medical/telemetry setting. This role includes leadership responsibilities such as prioritizing and delegating patient care activities and participating in quality improvement initiatives. A minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience is required. Responsibilities:

• Collect and prioritize patient health data using appropriate assessment techniques.
• Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses, validate with patients and healthcare providers, and document accordingly.
• Identify individualized, measurable expected outcomes and collaborate with patients and care teams to establish realistic goals.
• Develop and document a comprehensive plan of care tailored to patient needs, including interventions and post-discharge continuity.
• Implement nursing interventions safely and appropriately, documenting all care provided.
• Evaluate patient progress systematically, revising diagnoses, outcomes, and care plans as necessary.
• Participate in quality of care activities, including data collection, policy development, and interdisciplinary team collaboration to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes.
• Engage in self-evaluation and professional development through performance appraisals, peer review, and ongoing education.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, act as a patient advocate, and deliver care that respects patient autonomy, dignity, and diversity.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers; make referrals and ensure continuity of care.
• Incorporate research findings into clinical practice and participate in research activities as appropriate.
• Consider safety, effectiveness, and cost factors in patient care planning and delivery.
• Demonstrate leadership by prioritizing and delegating unit and patient care activities and adapting to changes in the healthcare environment.
• Meet specialty nursing practice standards applicable to the medical/telemetry area.
• Participate in out-of-facility patient transport using the nursing process.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in hospital or related healthcare settings.
• Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS) certification (to be completed within four months of probation end).
• Strong clinical assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in medical/telemetry nursing or related specialty areas.
• Familiarity with interdisciplinary team collaboration and quality improvement processes.
• Knowledge of specialty nursing practice standards such as AACN, ANNA, AORN, ENA, INS, AWHONN, Med-Surg/NAON, Psych-Mental Health, ONS, ASPAN, ARN.

Special Considerations:

• Responsible for overall nursing practice on the unit during assigned shifts.
• May assume charge nurse responsibilities in the absence of the Unit Manager.
• Must adhere to ethical nursing standards and patient confidentiality.
• Participation in out-of-facility patient transport is required.

Scheduling:

• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Shift assignments based on unit needs and staffing requirements.
