Job Description The CSA Cost Engineer will work within the Cost Management department and report directly to the Cost Manager or Project Manager. They will work closely with Construction Managers and Superintendents. The role analyzes project design and construction documents to determine project needs, reviews all CSA cost proposals, and prepares cost estimates for CSA scope changes. This position is fully onsite at our project location in Childress, TX. Salary Range $90,000 - $130,000 DOE, plus per diem and incentives. Essential Responsibilities Set up and maintain job cost reports, including budgets, commitments, forecasts, yet to buy items, contingencies, and spends. Track costs by bid package, field order, and specific category of change as defined by the client. Set up and maintain project indicators, including visual graphics. Work with subcontractors and equipment/material vendors to validate cost proposals. Perform monthly reconciliation of project cost reports. Interpret design documents, construction documents, and technical manuals to quantify materials required for construction. Perform on‑screen take‑off of material quantities. Prepare and manage cost authorization packages. Summarize quantities of materials in an orderly fashion. Qualifications Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and comfortable with computer networks. Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E‑Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6. Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks. Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory, and techniques. Experience organizing technical data accurately; familiarity with CSI specification system. Demonstrated thorough understanding of all aspects of construction. High visual observation and interpretation skills. Ability to work well under high pressure and maintain a cooperative attitude. Excellent time‑management and multitasking skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work closely with various trades and craftspeople in field environments; patience and professionalism essential. Strong team player, capable of collaborating across departments at all levels. Flexible schedule to accommodate extended hours or off‑shift work. Professional Experience and Education Minimum of two (2) years construction estimating experience. Preferred experience in industrial and/or hi‑tech semiconductor manufacturing projects. LEED Accredited Professional or ability to become accredited within 18 months. High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent. Background in materials and methods of construction. Physical and Mental Requirements Workday involves standing, walking, and sitting. Must be able to climb stairs (5% of day). Hands/fingers constantly used for mouse/keyboard/computer. Good visual acuity across near, mid, and far ranges; color and depth perception, hand‑eye coordination. Sufficient hearing to hear conversational levels in person and on the telephone. Clear speech to be heard in person, in front of groups, and over the phone. Capable of lifting up to 20 lbs.; minimal computer/drawings handling. Minimal bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, crawling. Constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail. Independent decision maker, with strong judgment and organizational skills. Capable of planning and organizing work efficiently. Strong organizational and computer skills; proficient in English reading, writing, speaking, and interpreting construction documents.
