This contract assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with multiple placement options available in the region. You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team, making a direct impact on students’ educational access and daily experiences.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification with a minimum 3.5 score on the EIPA
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English communication
- Prior experience interpreting in school settings strongly preferred
- Ability to convey complex academic and social concepts clearly and accurately
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in general and special education classrooms
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers using ASL and spoken English
- Adapt interpreting styles and vocabulary according to the age group and content (K-12)
- Collaborate with educational teams to ensure full participation in academic and extracurricular activities
- Maintain clear documentation as required
- Uphold ethical standards and support an inclusive, respectful environment
