Key Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification with a minimum 3.5 score on the EIPA
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English communication
• Prior experience interpreting in school settings strongly preferred
• Ability to convey complex academic and social concepts clearly and accurately
• Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide interpreting services for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in general and special education classrooms
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers using ASL and spoken English
• Adapt interpreting styles and vocabulary according to the age group and content (K-12)
• Collaborate with educational teams to ensure full participation in academic and extracurricular activities
• Maintain clear documentation as required
• Uphold ethical standards and support an inclusive, respectful environment
