Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires a strong clinical background in emergency care and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Certifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of Emergency Department experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Skills: IV Start, Triage, Telemetry, Conscious Sedation, Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias, Procedural Sedation Administration
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH, PALS, and MOAB (class offered by the unit)

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Experience with critical care patients, trauma, triage, and boarding inpatients
• Certifications: ENPC and TNCC

Job Details

• Target Ratios: 1:4, with assignments adjusting based on acuity
• Scheduled for 36 hours only
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shifts: 12-hour Night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• RTO: Maximum of 7 days for auto-offer
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)

Patient Care and Unit Overview

The Emergency Department is stroke and chest pain certified, capable of administering t-PA and TNK, with protocols for transferring patients requiring higher-level interventions. The unit does not handle trauma services or pediatric admissions and is equipped to care for a diverse patient demographic, from infants to the elderly.

Facilities and Equipment

• We utilize Alaris IV pumps and medication/lab specimen scanning technology.
• Unit Systems include Pyxis and EPIC.
• Dedicated charge nurse available 24/7.
• Overcapacity issues may occur, leading to boarding in the ED MSU.

Orientation and Scrubs

• Orientation includes 2 shifts of 12 hours each on the unit.
• Hospital orientation during the first week, with mandatory classes.
• Scrubs: Navy and/or White attire required.

Please note: Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
