Environmental Services / Custodial Manager 2

We are seeking an Environmental Services Manager 2 for ECU Health Medical Center, a 974-bed teaching medical center, the flagship facility and the heart of ECU Health. ECU Health Medical Center is the third largest Level I Trauma Center in the nation. This is a 3rd Shift opening (11:00pm start time) managing a team of 40 that includes rotating weekends. This position supports this progressive organization by providing leadership for our Environmental team in the delivery of safe, sanitary services. About The Job In this hands‑on leadership role, you’ll oversee frontline environmental services teams to ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. You’ll play a key part in scheduling, training, and supporting daily operations, helping create a safe and welcoming environment for all. Accountable for managing people, setting direction and deploying resources; typically is responsible for performance evaluation, pay reviews and hire/fire decisions. Results are primarily achieved through the work of others and typically depend on the manager's ability to influence and negotiate with parts of the organization. Progression within Career Band reflects acquisition of broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge, and process and people leadership capabilities. Accountable for business, functional or operational areas, processes or programs, which may include dotted‑line or matrixed management. What You’ll Bring Proven experience leading or supervising environmental services or custodial teams in a fast‑paced setting. Clear and confident communication skills with a sharp eye for detail. Technical proficiency in custodial tools, processes, and systems to support daily operations.
