Job TitleSet-up and operate a full range of bench and machine tool equipment such as a knee mill and engine lathePerform general milling operations, turning, facing, drilling, boring, threading, tapping and grinding, etc. to fabricate metal partsDesign and build tools and jigsPerform preventive maintenance on all machinesPerform trammingPerform work involving unusual set-ups, close tolerances and critical interrelated dimensionsWork from sketches, preliminary drawings, blueprints, or from verbal direction from engineersPlan, layout, and performs work on assignments including all types of machine and hand operations, fitting, adjusting and checking dimensions to very close tolerancesProvides feedback on engineering drawings to design and quality engineeringEnsure that quality requirements are metPerform peer inspectionsMay provide training to other employeesMeet delivery schedulesMay be required to improvise, use shop tools to make special and unusual adaptations of common machine tools
