Position Summary
Tidal Basin is seeking qualified candidates for the Case Manager position supporting our client and applicants impacted by disaster events. The ideal candidate will be the primary point of contact in serving disaster survivors. This position is responsible for assessing survivors' disaster caused unmet needs and actively assisting in the development of their Recovery Plan. Local candidates only. Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinating required services to address unmet needs and assessing when a case should be recommended for closure or reopening.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and forums.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to promote organizational initiatives.
- Gather and communicate community feedback to internal departments.
- Coordinate and manage community engagement programs and activities.
- Serve as a point of contact for community inquiries, concerns, and suggestions.
- Facilitate open communication between the organization and the community.
- Monitor community trends and issues to inform organizational planning.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with community needs.
- Prepare reports on community engagement efforts and outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Empathy and cultural sensitivity.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of local community dynamics and resources.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate's degree in social work, public administration, communications, or a related field
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in publicly facing case management
- Experience compiling and entering data, preferred.
- Experience in event planning and public speaking is a plus.
- Must be able to clear a criminal background check.
