Lead Medical Assistant

Job Overview The Lead Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care and performs both administrative and clinical tasks, leading advanced and specialized support functions on an independent basis. Responsibilities Perform clinical tasks: discuss symptoms, obtain vital signs, administer medication/vaccine, perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and conduct diagnostic screening tests. Sterilize and clean equipment, maintain examination rooms, and document information into the electronic medical records system. Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to deliver direct patient care within certification limits. Set daily priorities for the administrative work group and external vendors, coordinating activities and monitoring progress toward schedules and goals. Oversee the work of others and serve as the primary administrative owner of a main process, program, product, or technology, leading process improvement, training, and mentoring of other Medical Assistants. Qualifications Certified or Registered Medical Assistant. Phlebotomy experience. Medication/vaccine administration experience. 3+ years of MA experience. High school diploma or equivalent. CPR Certified. Patient‑facing role; part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program; TB screening required. Preferred 1+ year MA experience in a PCO center. Value Based Care experience including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS patient experience. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish; must pass proficiency exam prior to using the foreign language in communication. Benefits Health benefits effective day 1.
