Credit Analyst, Director – Global Infrastructure and Project Finance Group – Chicago Requisition ID: 49873 Business Unit: Fitch Ratings Category: Credit Analysis & Research Location: Chicago, IL, US Job Title: Director, Corporate, Infrastructure and Project Finance Group – Toronto Responsibilities Lead the analysis of infrastructure and project finance transactions. Assist in enhancing rating approaches and criteria development for complex and non‑standard credits, particularly in emerging infrastructure sectors (digital infrastructure, alternative/core+ infrastructure) and complex transportation and energy sectors in the US, Canada and across the EMEA region. Work on ratings analysis and research on new and existing complex transactions. Evaluate innovative credit structures and participate in global rating criteria development. Identify and research relevant trends, assess their credit impact, and highlight these trends in updated industry and market focused reports and presentations. Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and legal documents to produce ratings, publish credit reports, and contribute to special research reports. Interact with other Fitch analytical groups (e.g., Corporates and Structured) to develop rating approaches and criteria for bespoke projects. Meet with senior management of entities, project sponsors, investment bankers and financial advisors to produce ratings and reports for general publication. Maintain a strong external network and profile to build Fitch’s reputation for analytical excellence through representation at conferences, webinars, issuer meetings/site visits and media communication. Develop and grow strong relationships with other Fitch analytical groups to ensure analytical consistency and efficient execution of multi‑group transactions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree minimum; advanced degree a plus. 7+ years of relevant experience in capital markets and/or credit analysis roles. Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent modelling skills and thorough familiarity with spreadsheet‑based financial models. Ability to read and fully comprehend complex structures and ask probing questions to issuers and advisers. Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change. Ability to excel in a team‑oriented environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience covering the infrastructure or project finance sectors and focusing on credit on the buy‑side, sell‑side, credit department at a bank, or another rating agency. Ability to effectively and constructively challenge existing mindsets to assist the group in formulating innovative rating approaches on complex credits, sectors or topics. Compensation Expected base pay for New York or Chicago roles only: $150,000 – $180,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job‑related factors. Base pay is one part of the compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long‑term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
