This is a full-time, night shift opportunity working Monday through Thursday, 10 hour shifts with rotating every third weekend. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist II, at Baptist Health, you can expect processing and collecting specimens, working in the LIS, and general clerical duties in the general (main) lab. This candidate_ must hold a valid Medical Technologist - Generalist license in the State of Florida before hire. _ Baptist South is serving the rapidly growing neighborhoods in southern Duval and northern St. Johns counties. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist II, your duties will include, but are not limited to: Maintaining expertise and performing technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable. Maintaining records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals Supervision by Director and Section Supervisors; can perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision. Supervising MLTs as General Supervisor and serving as Charge Technologist in the abscense of other lab supervisors or MTs. May instruct new employees and students. Medical Laboratory Scientist II Experience: 2 years Medical Technologist Experience Medical Laboratory Scientist II Education: Associate’s Degree Required Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Medical Laboratory Scientist II Licenses and Certifications: Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred Or Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Preferred Or Licensed Medical Technologist Required Or Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician Required Or _ License note: _ Candidates licensed prior to 1997 are not required to have certification per the State of Florida Licensure Rules.
