Staff Frontend Engineer

Role Description

This role owns the frontend of Superluminal, a new perpetuals exchange built at Douro Labs, at the exact layer where the trading experience gets decided. This is not a role built around a fixed spec. It carries real ownership over how perps trading feels and works for the people.

Superluminal is built to be fast and to give traders better pricing than most exchanges currently offer. Perps is a crowded space, but it's also one with plenty of success stories, and the team believes Superluminal has what it takes to be among the best out there.

Qualifications

• Senior or staff-level frontend experience, comfortable working with minimal oversight
• Strong, hands-on skills in TypeScript and React
• Genuine familiarity with perps trading, ideally as a personal trader or close follower of the space
• Comfort using AI tools like Claude to move quickly, balanced with the ability to solve hard problems independently
• Based in the US, or able to maintain strong overlap with a US-hours team

Requirements

• Build and own the frontend for Superluminal using TypeScript and React
• Design the core trading experience: order entry, positions, pricing display, charts
• Make UX decisions that reflect how a perps trader actually thinks, not just what's technically clean
• Operate with a high degree of autonomy on a small, fast-moving team
