Respiratory Therapist - FT

Pay Range $34.00 - $38.00 per hour; Depending on Experience Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Matching Responsibilities Receive and follow schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in established policies and procedures. Adhere to facility policies and procedures of the assigned respiratory care practitioner department. Perform focused interviews to identify patient needs. Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in patient condition. Collect, analyze, and interpret data and information from health care members and document actual and/or potential diagnoses. Plan for outcomes of care for assigned patients. Perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, hospital policies, and patient care outcome standards. Adhere to emergency, safety, and infection control procedures of the facility. Promote and participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communication. Report changes in patient respiratory status to respiratory care director/supervisor, the primary nurse, and physician as needed and prior to leaving the facility. Develop and maintain a working rapport with inter‑department personnel and other departments. Agree not to disclose resident protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations to the Administrator. Assume administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of performing assigned duties. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information. Supervisory responsibilities: none. Qualifications Minimum Associate Degree from an accredited school. Graduate of a respiratory care program. Bachelor of Science degree in health care field preferred. Minimum one (1) year respiratory experience in an acute and/or subacute unit preferred. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees. Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current Respiratory Care Practitioner verification license for the state in which practiced (if applicable). Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications. Knowledge of office machines and equipment. Physical Demands Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer. Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, read, and hear. Frequent use of office equipment including copier, scanner, fax, telephone, and calculator. May be required to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations. Work Environment Noise level usually low to moderate.
