Toolmaker

Are you a master of precision manufacturing? We are seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to plan, construct, alter, and repair a wide variety of high-tolerance tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.

In this role, you will troubleshoot complicated dies, work directly from blueprints, and make precise allowances for heat-treating and metal flow. You will set up and operate lathes, millers, and grinders, as well as program and operate NC machinery. Responsibilities

• Planning & Construction: Plan construction procedures and methods, select appropriate materials, and make accurate allowances for metal flow in dies and shrinkage during heat-treating. Conduct tool tryouts.
• Machinery Operation: Set up and operate a variety of machine shop equipment, including lathes, millers, drill presses, arbor presses, pedestal grinders, surface grinders, internal/external grinders, belt sanders, and heat treat units.
• NC Programming: Able to program, set up, and operate NC (Numerical Control) machinery.
• Technical Interpretation: Work confidently from blueprints, technical sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Precision Measurement: Utilize master micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height/depth gauges, feeler gauges, and a wide variety of other precision measuring and gauging instruments.
• Maintenance & Safety: Maintain all machines and the immediate work area in a neat, clean, and orderly condition. Adhere strictly to all company safety rules and operational regulations.
• Flexibility: Perform other related work and occasional assignments as directed by supervision.

Requirements & Technical Skills

• background in skilled fitting, timing, adjusting, and troubleshooting complicated tools and dies.
• Proficiency with a wide variety of small hand tools (files, Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.).
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to take direction well from supervisory teams.

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes

• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 4 hrs of overtime per week
