Are you an experienced electrician looking for a new challenge that will contribute to fish and wildlife across Washington state?
This is an opportunity to inspect electric systems and equipment to identify failures or loss of efficiency, including detecting and correcting faulty or worn parts.
We are seeking a candidate to perform journey-level work installing, maintaining, and repairing low voltage electrical equipment and systems of 600 volts or less.
WHAT TO EXPECT - Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, this position will:
Electrical Work.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The standard work schedule includes the potential for occasional evening or weekend work as needed. Schedules may vary based on business needs, time of year, and/or weather conditions.
Travel requirements: Travel 60-80% to and from work sites, including overnight travel, depending on season.
Customer Interactions: Frequent interactions varying between Federal, Local, Inter-Agency, and Intra-Agency customers and vendors.

Electrical Work.
- Independently functions as a fully qualified electrician to perform skilled installation, maintenance, and repair work on low voltage electrical equipment and systems of 600 volts or less.
- Install, modify, maintain, and repair interior wiring and cables, connections for electric machines, switches and controls, fuse boxes, breaker panels, distribution and instrument panels, buzzer and bell circuits and hearing and power circuits.
- Install, adjust, maintain, modify, and repair electric motors, equipment, and instruments such as pumps (up to 300 hp), fans, metering devices, power tools, motors, and generators.
- Inspect electric systems and equipment to detect and correct faulty or worn parts.
- Perform electrical testing including voltage, amperage, and meg-ohm for assessing electrical efficiency and motor degradation.
- Schedule and coordinate dates for arrival or supplies and equipment.
- May schedule, direct, coordinate, and lead trades in the various phases of electrical work, either new construction or facility maintenance.
- Prepare cost tracking reports, develops a schedule of maintenance activities based on work orders received from our customers, and determine materials, equipment and manpower needs for each assignment.
- Develop cost estimates of labor and materials needed for building maintenance, alteration, or remodeling projects.
