Positions are available for mechanical engineers with 7 or more years of experience in fueling systems or other related industrial-type systems.Burns & McDonnell is considered the leading consultant in the aircraft fueling industry. We are engaged in high visibility projects at major airports and military bases worldwide. Additionally, the fueling business line executes projects for aviation, federal, transport truck and car rental clients, including marine loading facilities, pipeline terminals, truck loading facilities and commercial gasoline stations.A successful candidate would be experienced in design and construction in one or more of the following industries: Commercial or Military Fuel Systems, Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, or Industrial Systems.Experience in the following areas would be of high value:Airport fuel receipt, storage, and distribution facilitiesJet fuel hydrant distribution systemsPipeline and transport truck fuel receipt systemsJet fuel storage tanksInto-hydrant pumping and filtration systemsRefueler truck loading positionsAircraft hydrant fuel systemsSingle and double-wall fuel pipingFamiliarity with relevant industry standards including ATA 103, API 610, API 650, API 653, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, NFPA 30, and NFPA 11Creation of P&IDs and mechanical system control arrangementsLayout of equipment pad and valve manifoldsPiping system hydraulic modelingPiping system stress analysisQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program and 7 years of mechanical engineering experience.Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 7 years of mechanical engineering experience.Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 6 years of mechanical engineering experience required.EPC project experience preferred.Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, NACE). Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members.
