Position Function:The level of the position will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.This Investment Officer position is primarily responsible for discretionary investment management of agency and fiduciary account portfolios, relationship management (in conjunction with administrative officers), and marketing of investment services (philosophy, posture, outlook, process) to prospects and referral sources. Assist in the development, implementation and oversight of Division and Bank initiatives that advance sound business practices and enhance customer satisfaction.Performs all duties and interacts with internal and external customers in a manner that is expressly aligned with the Company's Core Values of approaching all actions with a “Voyaging Spirit” and being “Positively Ohana”. Exhibits core competencies that result in consistent delivery of positive Customer Interactions, Empowerment and Ownership and demonstrates key professional and performance skills such as Active Listening, effective Oral and Written Communication, Action and Solution Oriented and Thoroughness.Primary Accountabilities:Use discretion in managing client investment portfolios, and develop and execute securities transactions on major securities exchanges, in accordance with department process and guidelines. Perform mandated Reg. 9 fiduciary investment reviews on assigned accounts. Participate in the management and growth of client relationships.Market investment management services, either directly or through joint efforts to prospects and referral sources. Achieve assigned business development goals. Communicate Department investment posture, outlook and process to clients, prospects, and internal / external referral sources.Interface with internal audit and regulators. Ensure work performed contributes to satisfactory ratings by consistently meeting or exceeding all internal and external regulatory and audit requirements. Keep abreast of regulatory and industry developments.Provide guidance to the department and division team members. Assist with the development, implementation and adherence to Wealth Management Group policies, procedures, business practices and business standards. Assist with the oversight and development of products, services and processes.Improve personal and professional status through education; must keep abreast of industry developments, external and internal regulatory requirements, bank policies, procedures and products/services.Minimum Qualifications:Education:Investment Officer I and II:Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year university, preferably in Finance, Economics, or a related field required.Experience:Investment Officer I:4+ years of experience in experience in fiduciary investment management required. Advanced academic degree (Masters in Finance, Economics, or Mathematics) or professional designation (CFA, CIMA, etc.) qualify for one year of experience.Investment Officer II:5+ years of experience in experience in fiduciary investment management required. Advanced academic degree (Masters in Finance, Economics, or Mathematics) or professional designation (CFA, CIMA, etc.) qualify for one year of experience.Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time.
