- RRT is required; CRT is not acceptable.
- NICU training is required for those who will attend deliveries and c-sections.
Description:
Start dates are not flexible.
The role involves conducting 5-6 ventilator treatments and approximately 35 treatments per 12-hour shift.
Candidates must have certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
If NICU experience is present, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is also necessary.
The patient population includes adults, pediatrics, and neonates, depending on NICU training.
The responsibilities include drawing and analyzing ABGs, providing treatments, and adjusting ventilator settings.
Travelers are not required to independently intubate but must be able to assist.
An intensivist is available in-house 24/7.
A Charge RRT is present on each shift.
Travelers will not be alone in the main hospital but may be the only RT in the freestanding emergency department.
Common equipment used includes Vent-Avea, Hamilton C1, Bipap-V60, EV300, HiFlow-Aerovo 2, and backup Zoll vents.
Glidescope and Glidescope-GO are used for intubation assistance.
While scheduling may not guarantee a block schedule, efforts will be made to accommodate preferences.
Every other weekend availability is required.
Travelers will be expected to work two out of three major holidays.
Low census status may require being placed on-call.
Floating to freestanding emergency departments may be necessary, which are a 15-minute drive away.
The dress code is black scrubs.
Additional orientation may be provided for individuals with NICU experience.
The cancellation policy allows for cancellation of hours equivalent to the weekly guaranteed hours.
The charting system in use is EPIC.
This position does not require a BSN degree.
Trauma Level is 2 in the care setting, which is acute.
