Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, people-focused Area Manager – Fulfillment Operations to lead warehouse teams in a fast-paced, high-volume fulfillment environment. This role is responsible for managing and developing team leads and warehouse associates, driving operational efficiency, monitoring performance metrics, and maintaining a safe, productive workplace.

The ideal candidate has experience leading teams in a third-party logistics (3PL), e-commerce fulfillment, retail, or manufacturing environment. This individual will play a key role in meeting customer expectations, improving processes, developing talent, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly.

Available Schedules:

• Tuesday–Saturday: 6:00 AM–3:30 PM (2 openings)
• Tuesday–Saturday: 3:30 PM–1:00 AM (2 openings)
• Sunday–Thursday: 6:00 AM–3:30 PM (1 opening)
• Sunday–Thursday: 3:30 PM–1:00 AM (2 openings)
• Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM–4:00 PM (1 opening)
• Monday–Friday: 3:30 PM–1:00 AM (1 opening)

Candidates must be flexible and willing to work different shifts, including nights and weekends, as business needs require.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of 30+ warehouse associates, including temporary and full-time employees.
• Review workload forecasts and establish staffing and productivity requirements to meet operational goals.
• Collaborate with other Area Managers to balance labor resources and maintain efficient shift operations.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including units per hour, productivity, on-time receiving and shipping, customer service-level agreements, and safety performance.
• Analyze performance data, identify opportunities for improvement, troubleshoot operational challenges, and implement effective solutions.
• Train employees on processes, procedures, quality standards, and performance expectations.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability while supporting employee development and career growth.
• Develop team leads by providing the training, resources, and guidance needed to achieve performance goals.
• Promote employee engagement and contribute to a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
• Review and approve employee timecards daily.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated operational issues, resolving problems quickly and effectively.
• Support workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety procedures.
• Ensure products are handled, stored, and processed according to established safety, quality, hygiene, and contamination-control standards.
• Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to maintain efficient workflows and meet customer expectations.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support business operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of people management and operational leadership experience in a high-volume third-party logistics (3PL) or fulfillment environment.
• Experience in e-commerce, retail, distribution, or manufacturing is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, provide constructive feedback, and develop employees.
• Strong analytical skills with experience monitoring KPIs and driving results.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power BI, transportation management systems (TMS), or similar operational software.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing business needs and navigate ambiguity.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and carrier partners.
• A proactive, hands-on leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
• Flexibility to work nontraditional hours and rotating shifts as business demands require.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without restriction.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout an 8–10-hour shift.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach overhead, and push or pull frequently.
• Ability to work actively on the warehouse floor and support daily operational needs.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary: $70,000–$75,000, with eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus.
