In addition to an online store, Rexel USA has a distribution network of over 460 warehouse storefront locations throughout the U.S. Job Description We are looking for a Distribution Center Manager to join our Rexel team located in Naperville, IL! Summary The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for, but not limited to, directing the daily activities of the Distribution Center, including managing staff and proper use of equipment, manpower, and the overall Distribution Center results. Responsible for annual budgeting, planning, and implementing operational initiatives, sales growth strategies, facility and equipment maintenance, safety, and security. What You'll Do Must behave consistently with the Company’s Core Competencies, Polices, Procedures, guidelines, and focus on safety Create and manage operational procedures to improve the efficiency of the DC. Ensures Distribution Center personnel are following policies, procedures, and guidelines Participate in all aspects of hiring new employees. Recruit, train, assign, and direct work. Complete performance reviews, and disciplines and/or address complaints and resolves employee issues Foster a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment. Assume responsibility for the overall safety of personnel, company assets, material handling equipment, and the surrounding environment Manage annual budgeting, planning, and implementing operational initiatives, and sales growth strategies Manage the functions of departments in an orderly manner to achieve the highest possible levels of accuracy and productivity Delegate operational duties to Assistant Manager and Supervisors Maintain a cohesive work environment among employees and shifts in the Distribution Center May fill in for various Distribution Center roles Other duties as assigned For the state of Illinois only, the pay range is $97,293 - $121,600 depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. Qualifications What You'll Need 4+ years of management experience at a Distribution Center, Warehouse, or equivalent Certified to operate all material handling equipment: forklift, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack, Electric Reach Truck, and High-Reach Narrow-Aisle High School or GED - Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal and presentation skills are required Knowledge and experience with Distribution Center material handling, inventory management, and transportation management required Ability to perform short and long-range planning Must be service oriented, self-motivated, dependable, possess excellent leadership skills, and customer service skills Ability to perform various tasks on computers, including the use of Excel, Outlook, and Word is required Proficiency in all aspects of the Distribution Center Management Software (WMS) or other systems in use at Distribution Centers Ability to travel as needed Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Additional Information Physical Demands Sit: Must be able to remain in a stationary position - Frequently – 21% to 50% Walk: Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location - Constantly – at least 51% Use hands to finger, handle, or feel: Operates a computer and other office machinery - Constantly – at least 51% Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Must be able to crouch down to stock shelves, pick up boxes, or position oneself to maintain computers in the lab/under desks/in server closet - Occasionally – up to 20% Climb or balance: Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment - Occasionally – up to 20% Talk, hear, taste, smell: Must be able to use senses to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions - Constantly – at least 51% Weight and Force Demands Up to 10 pounds - Constantly – at least 51% Up to 25 pounds - Constantly – at least 51% Up to 50 pounds - Frequently – 21% to 50% Working Environment Exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and/or exposure to heat and cold - Frequently – 21% to 50% Exposed to electrical hazards; risk of electrical shock - Occasionally – up to 20% Handles or works with potentially dangerous equipment - Constantly – at least 51% Travels to offsite locations - Occasionally – up to 20% Rexel USA (A VEVRAA Federal Contractor), and its affiliated companies, is an EEO/Disabled/Veterans employer.
